Shota Nakama

Video Game Orchestra

BIOGRAPHY

In May 2008 Shota Nakama had a spark of an idea to create a live game music performance project, soon-to-be called Video Game Orchestra. On July 2nd, the very first concert was held at a small venue in the center of Boston, and the mere 27-piece ensemble packed the house. Following this success, the second concert featured a more complete rockestral set up, multiplying the size of the audience. Then Shota’s creative musical ambition came true with the break-through sold out show at Berklee Performance Center in March 2009 – roaring, screaming audiences rocking out to VGO’s signature “rockestral” video game music. In April 2011, VGO had its debut at the legendary classical concert venue, Boston Symphony Hall, bringing the first ever video game music concert in its history. At the end of 2012, VGO conducted its first tour in China, visiting four cities and drawing over 10,000 fans. VGO was personally appointed to record the actual soundtrack for the last saga of the FF13 trilogy, LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII. VGO worked on the enormously popular franchises such as Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, God Eater 2: Rage Burst, Tales of Zestiria and Final Fantasy XV. In February 2016, Capcom announced its official concert tour, CAPCOM LIVE!, produced by VGO producer, Shota Nakama, and Video Games Liveproducer Tommy Tallarico.

Helix actually sounds actually better than old-school single pedals, and I don't think I will return to them ever again.
