spider2 212 with no sound

Holding the tap button with the power on bypasses the DSP preamp. The signal still goes through it to get to the power amp section so the DSP is working (sorta). That is good news. Also the power amp seems to be working which is wonderful news.

Since the lights all work and the DSP is working in bypass mode and the model selector seems to work (lights change as you turn it) the problem may be the channel volume knob. (my best guess).

Try starting the amp normally then playing with the channel volume knob. If you have your master volume up enough, guitar plugged in and turned up enough, you might be able to get the channel volume to make contact and make some sound, if that what's wrong in the first place.

If the channel volume is warn out its contact will be changing. If the return from that pot changes the DSP will automatically go with that setting, in this case might be "0" (my though). Try turning the channel volume and see if you can luckly get some sound. If you do then that pot is bad. If its bad then the entire daughter board its on must be replaced by L6. lol

Eventually you are going to need to take the amp to an authorized L6 service center for repairs. They are the only place that can get the necessary parts and they must also install them, so if you want that amp fixed right you are basically going to haft to take it to one.

Good luck

M^T

What are the specs for the speaker outs on spider 4 150

I want to purchase a used line 6 quarter stack. I did not see any specs in my manual for the speaker outs on my spider 4 150. When you plug in, do your internal speakers mute? Can I run just one speaker out to an external cab or do I have to run both? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't find any info on what happens when you run the speaker outs. Has anyone else had any experience running external cabs? Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS.
