Ok So i have tried installing both v3.00 and v3.02 line 6 edit programs (i uninstalled the former before installing the latter). During the install they both ask to install Java runtime 5 and ask to connect to the internet. It then says "Unable to download Java Runtime Environment. Setup will coninue the install. However, Line 6 edit will not work untill the Java Runtime Environment is installed". L6edit then does not work... ![]()
Im am unable to download JRE 5 since it has come to the end of its service live and is no longer available. So i have tried downloading and installing JRE 6 (after a complete uninstall of Java altogether) and then installing L6edit v 3.02 but still get the above mentioned problem. what gives??
Is this normally so difficult?
Thanks for any help in advance,
James
PS. Everytime i have tried i have been connected and do not have any other problems with internet connections, downloads, sys admin access etc etc...
I have the same problem. It's impossible to launch Line6 Edit.
I've tried to install jre 6 and 5. And only 5. Only 6. Both.
I've tried on Vista. I've tried on XP, but nothing.
It doesn't work.
Considering that Gearbox cannot be used with my Bass Pos XT Live, what am I supposed to use?
Nothing?
does nobody know anything about that?
Who buys a Bass Pod XT Live (that still costs several hundreds of euro .....) has to be treated this badly by Line6?
Why do not make compatible with it some other software other than Line6Edit (that doesn' t work)......Gearbox, for example....
...I'm really disgusted........
Hi Mattari,
I've found a solution...not sure if its the ideal but its working fine. I found older versions of Java here http://java.sun.com/products/archive/ . I can only see the updates for v5...but try an older one and see how you go.
Hope this helps
James
WHERE IS THE LINE6 SUPPORT....>THIS IS CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!
Thank you, James.
If we'd do not help by ourselves we could throw everything in the trash for them.![]()
Actually I had already tried with older java versions, but only on my Vista PC.
After reading your post I've tried on my very old XP Notebook and it works.
Thanks again, James. ![]()
