Hello,
I am having a problem properly setting up my Pod X3.
I am able to get a good sound with the pod when I have the monitors plugged directly to the pod. However, when it comes time to record, and the monitors are going into the Mbox2 (Pod and Mbox2 connected by a spdif) it is as if someone turned on the "crappy" button. Sounds like the monitors have a blanket over them.
I am recording to a stereo track in PT.
Why would it sound great before I go through the Mbox?
Let me know if you need any more info.
Very frustrating,thanks,
Did you check all the settings that pertain to the S/PDIF output? Press the Outputs button and down arrow to the last page. If they are correct, how are your 1/4" Outputs set (the first page)? Perhaps your 1/4" Outs are set to something other then Direct? You'll notice that you can only set the S/PDIF to one of the Direct output types or dry but you can set the 1/4" Outs to Direct, Combo, Stack, etc. So if the 1/4" outs are set to something other than Direct you'll get a big difference in sound when compared to the S/PDIF output. Hope that helps.
Exactly right. The 1/4 inch was set to Stack Front and the spdif to the studio mode. Thanks for your help.
