I've copied this over to the Snow Leopard discussion from the X3 board, as indicated, as I can't find any solution to the prob here, and it's obviously Snow Leopard related:
Hi,
I've just bought an X3 Pro, and wanted to update the drivers and firmware, both of which are at 1.00.
I have the latest version of Monkey installed, and it identfies my X3 Pro is connected. However, in the updates tab, the only thing that shows up is the Applications sub menu. No drivers/ firmware options to be seen (which can be seen in the updates tab when I switch devices to my XT Pro). So there is seemingly no way to update the firmware or drivers!
Any help very much appreciated.
nb: I've installed the beta drivers (4.2.5) and the problem remains...
Hi,
I think you are screwed until Line 6 OFFICIALLY supports Snow Leopard.
I have a UX1 and Pod Farm working perfectly with Snow Leopard, Garageband/Logic etc. No probs.
But I asked in the Spider forum if I purchased a new Spider IV and FBV2 Shortboard, would the current Monkey with Beta drivers successfully update the firmware in the amp and floorboard.
I was told very definitely no. And actually to not even try as it could damage the amp.
So I assume you are having the same problem. Its a shame since Pod Farm is great for me. But for a reasonably priced jamming amp, I've been forced to look elsewhere since I cant get the "fixes" and extra features for a Spider. (e.g. I wont be able to calibrate the expression pedal since you need the newer firmware to do this - so I'd be knowingly buying something with an issue! Just cant do that to myself!).
However, if you are happy with your X3, then its probably worth just hunkering down and praying full support comes soon, providing your current firmware isnt giving any problems.
I'm sure it will all be ok in the end!
