POD HD500

Brian May Echo Brian May Brighton Rock Queen Class A-30 TB Rock 1698
ThomasBrunkard Every time I get a new modeller I always give this a go so I took up the challenge and I'm pretty happy with the results. We've got the Vox AC30 being pounded with the Boost Comp. There's a smidgeon of compression but mostly I'm using this as though it were a treble booster. My trusty Edwards Black Beauty does a very good out of phase Brian May in the middle position. If you've got a two pick up Les Paul you'd be hard pressed to get that jangle but a strat would do it in position 4 no problem. The Vox is feeding two digital delays (900ms and 1800ms each giving one loud single repeat). Essentially the delays are giving out a repeat each one on a quarter note and the other on a half note (crotchet and minim). This done with two machines so as to pan the effect to give good separation There is a version of this for the POD HD500 and Pod HD (bean desktop model). Apologies for some of the sloppiness, I was using a six pence (formerly one of Mr. May's) to play the part. http://youtu.be/hD714HJtPu4 2/19/12

Blizzard of Rhoads Randy Rhoads Mr. Crowley Ozzy Osbourne Brit J-45 Nrm Pre / Brit J-45 Nrm 1494
ThomasBrunkard This is my attempt at replicating the more neo classical portion of Mr. Crowley. It's a nice Marshall tone anyway and I have a delay simulating double tracking to smooth out the sound like the original. Hope you enjoy! 10/10/11

POD HD500

Jan Akkerman 458758 Progressive Rock 473
ThomasBrunkard Jan originally had a Black Beauty Les Paul with a Gretsch pick up wired in at the bridge. The tone is a brittle biting one. Switch on your neck pick up and kick in the delay for volume swells. 7/26/11

POD HD500

Feed The World Synth lead (soft) Midge Ure Do They Know It's Christmas? Band Aid PhD Motorway 80s Pop 21483
ThomasBrunkard Use this in my 80s tribute band Delorean (deloreanband.net) for this yule time classic. I use a Les Paul and get best results with the neck pick up. As it looks wrong to see a guitarist playing a keyboard part I have some guitar in there as well for realism. If you're not lazy like me you should consider panning them left and right and control the mix as though you have a keys player. A pad patch for the verse is also up here. 12/21/10

Feed the World (pad on EXP 1) Midge Ure Do They Know It's Christmas? (Verse) Band Aid PhD Motorway 80s Pop 1048
ThomasBrunkard Use this in my 80s tribute band Delorean (deloreanband.net). The pad is controllable with the expression pedal. A synth patch for the main riff is also up here. 12/21/10

PODxt stomp

Walk On By Isaac Hayes Walk On By Isaac Hayes Blackface Lux Funk RB 220
ThomasBrunkard From Isaac Hayes's classic verson of the Burt Bacarach song. If you're not familiar with it check it out to see what a fuzz and a trem in a single patch could possibly be for! 5/19/06 single coil

PODxt stomp

fx
Hammond Bass John Lord I Hope You're Feeling Better Santana Plexi 45 Blues 1365
ThomasBrunkard This simulates a hammond put through a Mashall just like John Lord and that Santanaguy would do! Single notes only but you'l get a cool late sixties sound for those John Lord-esque riffs. 5/19/06 humbucker

Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.
